Perfect Summertime Screened Porch Activities
With the weather as beautiful as it is, summertime is a great chance to get outside and enjoy your screened porch. But what should you do? It can be easy to stick with the same things over and over again, and maybe you’re wanting to switch them up a little bit. If you’re looking for something new to do, here are a few ideas for some fun screened porch activities.
Enjoy a Flavored Lemonade
If you’ve never tried making a flavored lemonade before, give it a go! It’s not that difficult and can be a nice change of pace from traditional lemonade. These drinks have that fruit-flavored sweetness that summer calls for while being a great pick-me-up in the middle of the day. Enjoy it on your porch while you do one of the other activities on this list.
Wits and Wagers Family edition
This board game is great for an evening game night and is pretty small, so it’s easy to play on your screened porch. Whether you’re hanging out with the family or have some friends over, this is a fun one. Take turns guessing a numerical answer to a question (for example: “What is the world record for the most hot dogs eaten in five minutes?”) and then make more guesses based on what everyone else said.
Read a Magazine
It might seem old-fashioned, but reading through a magazine can be nice and relaxing, especially while sitting in a sunbeam on your screened porch. With so many to choose from, there’s sure to be one that interests you. It’s become the norm to only read articles online. However, reading a print magazine can be a nice break for your eyes, especially if you’ve already looked at your phone a lot during the day.
Painting
Put down a sheet to protect your floors and get to painting! Whether you want to do acrylic, watercolor, finger painting, or anything else, showing your creative side is a great way to spend an afternoon. Additionally, if you’ve got some sidewalk by your screened porch, feel free to get out the chalk and have some fun there too!
Giant Checkers
Here’s a simple game you probably already know, but just a little bit different. Get yourself a giant checkers set or make one for yourself! This adds some fun to an already enjoyable classic and is perfect for a nice day outside. Plus, super easy cleanup and storage only add to the list of reasons to give this one a try.
