Our Story
How it all began
In the early 2000s, Ray Bass, a resident of Knoxville, TN, found himself frustrated by the shortcomings of a popular field-built screening system used for enclosing traditional wood-framed screened porches. The system had failed, leaving him determined to find a better solution.
Ray tinkered, experimented, and innovated until he created something groundbreaking—the product we now know as SCREENEZE®. Its reliability and functionality promised to revolutionize porch design and construction. However, Ray needed support to bring his vision to life.
Enter David Seuberling, a seasoned homebuilder from Cincinnati, OH. With 35 years of experience, David recognized the potential of SCREENEZE®. He saw how it could transform the way porches were built, making them more durable, efficient, and aesthetically pleasing.
After thorough due diligence, David acquired the controlling interest in Home Improvement Systems, Inc., the company behind SCREENEZE®. Their mission was clear: focus on one thing—providing the best screen porch solution to contractors and homeowners across the country.
SCREENEZE® became more than just a product; it became a legacy. Its unique features—durability, ease of installation, and innovative design—set it apart. Contractors and homeowners alike embraced it, and the company thrived.
