Should You Install SCREENEZE® Yourself or Hire a Contractor?
The patented SCREENEZE® screen porch system was designed in a way that makes installation painless and easy. Typically, a contractor would be the one to install our product as they are highly skilled in home improvement projects. However, because our screen systems are so simplistic, handy DIYers also have the option of installing the product by themselves without having to utilize a contractor. Some people have trouble deciding whether they should install SCREENEZE themselves or hire a contractor, so in this blog we will try and make the decisions easier.
Have little to no experience in home improvement projects?
Some people, especially after buying their first home, don’t really have any experience with remodeling a home and using tools. While this is totally fine, we don’t recommend that this group of people install SCREENEZE by themselves. Although the SCREENEZE was crafted for simplicity, we don’t recommend installing our products as a first-time project. If SCREENEZE isn’t installed correctly, it is subject to damage and won't perform in the way we intended. Hiring a contractor minimizes the risk of a flawed installation so for some people this is the best option. Luckily, we made it super easy to find a contractor! In the top right corner of our website, there is a box that says, “FIND A DEALER/INSTALLER.” This will allow you to find the nearest installer to you so that you can find the perfect contractor!
Have some experience with home improvement projects?
Some people feel comfortable with home improvement projects but aren’t necessarily masters at them just yet. This group of people sometimes have a tough decision in whether they should install SCREENEZE themselves or hire a contractor. Thankfully, there are a few factors to consider that will help you make your decision. First, it is important to note the tools required to install a SCREENEZE porch system. At the very least you will need a rubber mallet, a small pry bar, a utility knife, a standard drill, a tape measure, and a miter saw. If you have these things that is great, but if not, it may be smart to hire a contractor who will have the required tools. Also, you should consider how much time you are willing to put into the installation and how much help you will have. While you will save money by not hiring a contractor, you should consider how much your time is worth. Additionally, just like any home improvement project, the process will be quicker and easier with the help of others. If you are wondering how much time an installation will take, we recommend checking out our YouTube channel. Here you will find many videos including details about the installation process that will help you decide. The most important thing to note when considering installing your screen porch is doing what you are comfortable with. Both installing SCREENEZE yourself or hiring a contractor are both valid options and at the end of the day, it is whatever you feel better about.
Are you very experienced with home improvement projects and using tools?
Lastly, some people have been working with home improvement projects for a while. Luckily for them, the SCREENEZE porch systems are easy to install, and they should have no issues with the process! If you have the tools and time required for this project installing SCREENEZE yourself can be a very rewarding project.
