Winter DIYs For Your Screened Porch

We are in the height of winter (despite the interesting temperatures and precipitation), so it’s a perfect time to pick up a new hobby or begin crafting a new addition for your screened porch. Whether you want a new wood side table that you built with your partner, or perhaps merely some small decorations that you did in your free time on the weekend, we have some great DIY suggestions for you. Continue reading for some ideas that you can craft to start the new year off right.


Small Wood DIY Side Table

Tools/Materials:

  • 2 – 2×8 Wood Boards

  • 20 – 2″ Kreg Screws

  • 20 – 2″ Kreg Pocket Hole Plugs (or stainable wood filler)

  • 120 and 220 Grit Sandpaper

  • Wiping Cloths (for stain/cleaning)

  • Staining Pad

  • 1QT Varathane Stain in Antique White

  • Wood Glue

  • Tape Measure & Pencil

  • Safety Glasses, Ear Protection, & Mask

  • Miter Saw and Circular Saw/Table Saw, Jigsaw, & Sander


Petit Wooden DIY Plant Stand

Tools/Materials:

  • 1 ¼” Thick Dowel (Cut to Size for the Legs)

  • 3″ x 3″ Metal T Plate (Preferably Heavy Duty)

  • Flat Head Screwdriver

  • Hammer

  • Longer and Shorter screws

  • Sandpaper

  • Marker

  • 1x3 Wood Board or Yard Stick (To Help Draw Line on Dowel)

  • Wood Slice
