We’re in the height of summer! Summer is meant for enjoying time outdoors with friends and family. Of course, this enjoyment of the outdoors can be experienced in the bug-free environment of your screened porch, on new summertime furniture and decorations. Screened Porch Furniture

During the warmer months, popular outdoor furniture is typically made out of a wicker, wood, or a synthetic plastic made to emulate one of the two listed above. Chairs and couches are then cushioned with water-resistant cotton/polyester seating and backings, further garnished with pillows of the same material. While water-resistant cushions are not necessary in a screened porch, they are beneficial for being stronger and sturdier than standard indoor furniture cushions.

Tables, foot rests, and other miscellaneous outdoor furniture tend to be made out of the same wicker/wood/or blend as the chairs. Additionally, they occasionally come with a glass top, adding accent to the overall atmosphere of your screened porch. The pieces that have glass typically need more care and cleaning than the other options, but they meet aesthetic needs more appropriately.

Summertime Outdoor Decorations

If you enjoy bright colors, themes of decor, and/or light and comfortable blankets/pillows - summertime decorations are for you. This warm season demands bright, outgoing colors of accent, be those brought out in pillows, vases, flowers, or the works. The summer is also perfect if you enjoy matching your decorations to a specific theme, as there are many available to match with: seashells, beach, tropical, lake-life … and so many more. Light woven throws and small, dense accent pillows finish off the look for any screened porch - and many are available in the same water-resistant material as chair and couch cushions.
