Spring Games for Inside & Outside Your SCREENED Porch

After a cold winter, spring is finally arriving and the weather is starting to turn for the better. As the sun peeks from behind the clouds, it’s a great time to get outside and enjoy your porch and yard with friends and family. But what is there to do? The answer is lots, and today we’re going to be giving you some ideas for how to make the most of your screened porch, as well as highlight some fun games to play on your lawn.

Porch Games

Jenga

It might seem simple, but Jenga is a fantastic game that manages to make every turn exciting. If you’ve never played, players take turns pulling wooden blocks out of a tower and then placing them on top to make it taller. If you knock it over at any point, you lose. If you have the space, consider getting a Jenga GIANT set to really amp up the intensity! Either way, depending on your flooring, consider putting a blanket down to protect from scratches.

Love Letter

Love Letter is a fun, quick card game that is easy to learn, while at the same time offering a deep amount of strategy. Perfect for nice days outside, Love Letter is played in a series of rounds, so, if you only have a few minutes, you can shorten the game fairly easily. It can also be played by two to six players, meaning that it’s easy to pick up whether the whole family is available, or just a quick one on one game. Click to see the rules.

Klask

Similar to a mini version of hockey, the objective of Klask is to score on your opponent by getting the ball into their goal. This is done by controlling your piece with a magnet under the board. Be careful to avoid the smaller white magnets however, as getting them stuck to you could mean giving a point to your opponent. To view the full rules, click below!

Yard Games

Bocce Ball

If you’ve never played bocce ball, this is your sign to do so. It’s super fun and a great family activity. Best, it can be played easily with two, four, or eight players, depending on how many you have. Practice your aim and knock away other players to secure the win.

Kubb

What is kubb? It’s fun is what it is! Kubb is traditionally from Sweden but has made its way to the United States. Players are placed on one of two teams and take turns throwing wooden batons at the “kubbs” on the other side of the field. The goal is to hit the kubbs, which are wooden blocks, and knock them over. Kan Jam

Kan Jam draws some inspiration from cornhole, but adds in a Frisbee twist and its own set of rules. Players take turns throwing the disc towards the other side’s can, which may then be deflected by their partner to try and gain points. The scoring varies depending on where and how it hits, and the first to 21 wins. Check out the rules though, as there is always a way to instantly win even if you think you might be out of the game!
