HOW TO ENJOY YOUR PORCH THIS SUMMER

What could possibly make your time relaxing on your screened-in porch more enjoyable this summer? Drinks! Below we have compiled a list of summer drink recipes to enjoy while sitting on your SCREENEZE® porch.

Mason Jar Watermelon Frosé by Country Living

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 Cup of Rosé

  • 1/3 Cup of Watermelon Juice


DIRECTIONS:

  1. Combine rosé and watermelon juice in a 16-ounce mason jar. Attach metal lid and screw band.

  2. Freeze for 1 hour then shake the jar once. Continue freezing and shaking the jar every 30 minutes until the liquid is slushy, 1 to 1 1/2 hours.

  3. Serve garnished with mint sprig, if desired.

Strawberry Jalapeño Mint Julep by Delish.com

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1/2 c. water

  • 1/2 c. granulated sugar

  • 2 jalapeños, halved

  • 1/4 c. chopped strawberries

  • 8 fresh mint leaves, plus more for garnish

  • 2 oz. bourbon

  • Ice

  • 1 (12-oz.) can seltzer

  • Strawberry, for garnish

  • Red jalapeño, sliced, for garnish

DIRECTIONS:

  1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine water, sugar, and jalapeños. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature. Discard jalapeños.

  2. In a cocktail glass, muddle strawberries and mint. Add bourbon and 1 tablespoon simple syrup, then fill with ice and top off with seltzer.

  3. Garnish with mint, a strawberry, and red jalapeño slices.

Pink Bikini Cocktail by A Farm Girl's Kitchen

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 bottle of Raspberry Lemonade

  • 1 ¾ cup of Malibu Coconut Rum

  • 1 cup amaretto liqueur

  • Orange Sherbet Ice Cream

  • Raspberries for garnish

  • Orange Slices for garnish

  • Mint leaves for garnish


DIRECTIONS:

  1. Combine the raspberry lemonade, Malibu Coconut Rum, amaretto liqueur in a large pouring pitcher. Stir well.

  2. Add ice to cocktail glasses and place a scoop of orange sherbet on top of each glass.

  3. Gently pour the cocktail mixture over the ice and sherbet in each glass. Add a straw and pick with fresh raspberry, orange wedge, and mint leaf to each glass.

‘Merica Mule by Smirnoff

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 oz. Smirnoff Red, White, & Berry

  • 3 oz. Ginger Beer

  • 0.5 oz. Lemon Juice

  • Square ice cubes

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Pour all ingredients into a mule mug filled with ice.

  2. Stir cocktail and enjoy.

And for the kids:

Veggie Society’s Cucumber Mint Lemonade

INGREDIENTS:

  • 4 lemons -peeled & seeds discarded

  • 1 lemon (sliced for garnish)

  • 1/2 English cucumber -sliced

  • 1/2 English cucumber -diced

  • 5 sprigs fresh mint (leaves only) +some for garnish

  • 6 cups filtered water

  • 1/3 cup agave syrup or coconut nectar (or to taste)

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Add the diced cucumber and peeled lemons together with the mint leaves and agave syrup to a powerful blender or food processor. Add the water and blend until smooth to your liking. ( If using a food processor you might want to strain it at this point. If using a Vitamix there won't be any need for straining).

  2. Taste and adjust sweetness with more syrup or nectar.

  3. Transfer the lemonade to a pitcher with the reserved cucumber, lemon slices and mint sprigs. Serve over ice.
