Correct & Incorrect Ways to Install SCREENEZE

Over the years we’ve seen SCREENEZE® installed a number of different ways, some being the correct way and some being incorrect. To set the record straight, we’ve decided to write a blog that solely focuses on the correct and incorrect ways to install SCREENEZE®, the tools required to install, and any tips and tricks we’ve noted along the way. If you want to ensure you’re installing SCREENEZE® correctly, read below to make sure you’re doing so.

Instructions to Install

Tools Needed

  1. Rubber Mallet

  2. Small Pry Bar

  3. Utility Knife

  4. Standard Drill

  5. Tape Measure

  6. Miter Saw

Tips & Tricks

  1. The beveled edge of the Vinyl Cap will ALWAYS face towards the screen opening.

  2. Use pencil identifying marks on the corresponding Vinyl Cap and its Aluminum Base Channel so they are easy to place and keep together as working through the installation process.

  3. Although we provide a self-tapping screw, we recommend pre-drilling 3/16” hole at your marked centers with a standard drill.

  4. After loosening the ends, gently pull the Vinyl Cap off the Aluminum Base Channels - take temperature into account.

  5. If it’s a windy day, place a thumbtack on each corner and leave the screen on the roll to keep it square and not blow around.

  6. DO NOT STRETCH THE SCREEN FABRIC. SCREENEZE® is a self-tightening system. Allow the screen to drape over the bottom channel and position the screen to ensure there are no wrinkles from the left or the right.

  7. Use the base of the Vinyl Cap, holding your knife at a perpendicular angle, as a guide for trimming the screen fabric.
