5 Ways to Celebrate the Fourth of July
Happy Independence Day to everyone! While you’re enjoying your day off to celebrate another year of freedom, we have ideated on a few amazing ways to celebrate the Fourth of July with friends and family this year. Whether you’re looking for some new ways to enjoy the holiday, or you want a good read to start your morning off right, we’ve got some great red, white, and blue content for you!
1) Bake & Grill
Regardless of if you want your food to be red, white, and blue in color, grilling and baking are integral parts of the Fourth of July. Grilling out can be a fantastic way to enjoy time outdoors with friends and family, while also gaining the desired outcome of a delicious meal. Baking ahead of time provides decorative cookies, cakes, or what have you to enjoy day-of, while showcasing your fine decorating skills. Baking and grilling also provide great scents to fill both indoors and outdoors, prior to any hosting activities.
2) Watch Fireworks (or Set Some Off)
Fireworks and sparklers are the epitome of Independence Day. Almost all communities around the United States set off fireworks on or around July 4th, and many states even allow homeowners to purchase and ignite their own fireworks. Fireworks are a fantastic way to celebrate freedom while appreciating bright colors, and they serve as great enjoyment for the whole family. We do remind homeowners, however, that if your state does permit the use of fireworks by individuals, check with your neighbors so that you are not endangering them - physically or mentally - with your personal use.
3) Spend Time Outside
Hikes and walks are the perfect outdoor activity on or around the Fourth of July. They get you outside and active, to enjoy the fine air and freedom that we have in this country. If you’re not a fan of walks or hikes, outdoor activities such as swimming, games, and sports are great opportunities to serve the same purpose. Yet another way to enjoy the outdoors, if the other options don’t meet your needs, is by sitting in your screened porch with friends and family. Any one of these options allows you to enjoy nature on your day off.
4) Attend or Watch a Parade
Many communities throughout the country host parades the weekend leading up to or the day of July Fourth. Parades serve as a great opportunity for community members to come together and unit under one activity. Whether you’re seeking to attend a parade in-person, or you want to watch a parade on television, the Fourth of July is an excellent day to do it.
5) Talk & Enjoy Time With Family
The Fourth of July is a day to be off and cherish one another in the community and in our own homes. We are free, and therefore we get the chance to celebrate with one another year in and year out what was fought for so long ago. Take the time on Independence Day to talk with loved ones about life; catch up on things missed in the last year; enjoy the close company of those you weren’t able to with over the last few years.
